Adonai: The God who rules
This month, we are starting a series called - The Names of God, and the purpose is to help us truly connect to God through the names that we call Him. As you read, may your life be transformed. Amen.
Memory Verse: Isaiah 25:8 - He will swallow up death forever. The Sovereign LORD (Adonai) will wipe away the tears from all faces; He will remove his people’s disgrace from all the earth. The LORD has spoken.
Happy New Month!
This month of February, we are starting a series called - The Names of God, and the purpose is to help us truly connect to God through the names that we call Him.
You will truly know God more when you understand the meaning of His name, so let your heart be opened and permit the Holy Spirit to enlighten you.
The name Adonai describes certain personalities of God; His capacity as a ruler, master, owner and sovereign Lord. When we call God Adonai, we are calling the office of one who is on top of every matter.
Psalm 97:5 tells us that the mountains melt like wax before the Lord of all the earth. The Message translation has it like this “The mountains take one look at God and melt, melt like wax before earth’s Lord.” That is the God you serve. Adonai! The one that brings mountains down.
Philippians 2:10-11 tells us that at the name of Jesus, every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
In the face of tough situations, let us remember who we serve. The One who is not scared of anything. His name is above all names. He dictates how things should be.
The next time you find yourself in a tight corner, call on Adonai. The One who rules over everything.
Once you understand God as Adonai, your life will change forever. That’s when you’d begin to see your problems as tiny when laid side by side with God himself.
Prayer: Adonai I worship you, Son of God you are so good. Almighty God hallowed be your name, your dominion is forever more. Amen.
Yesterday we considered the topic - Thou Anoints My Head With Oil. If you didn’t get a chance to go through the devotional, you can do so here.
O God grant me the grace to constantly lay my worries at your feet knowing fully well that you rule over EVERYTHING ☺️☺️☺️
